David W. Murphy

Executive Director of Finance

David W Murphy is Executive Director of Finance with responsibility for the Viterbi School’s budget, budget planning process and all business operations. In addition to the budget, Murphy oversees the school’s information systems.

Murphy began working at USC in 1980 as a finance analyst in the university’s central administration. The following year, he joined the School of Engineering Finance Office managing Human Resources and Payroll. He has handled increasingly responsible positions with distinction and his role has increased significantly in recent years. Murphy has also served on multiple task forces for information systems at USC.
