A Message from
Dean Yannis Yortsos

I was so proud to participate in the Viterbi School’s centennial celebration. It is awe-inspiring to be part of history in the making!

Now it is our time to pick up the standard and rise to the challenges of today.

It is the personal commitment and support of our Viterbi Trojan Family that has propelled us through our 100 years of accomplishment. Likewise, it is the brilliance and dedication of the Viterbi Family that will launch us into the next global era.

High expectations often result in towering achievements. The School’s seven-year, $300 million fundraising initiative has stellar expectations. We hope for the realization of distance education programs that cross global boundaries, bringing higher education to remote areas. We believe in the importance of developing biomedical advances that easily combat illness and eliminate disease. Furthermore, we are confident in our ability to surpass today’s limitations and improve the quality and security of tomorrow.

Our vision is boundless. In fact, thinking big defines Viterbi. So I invite you to share in the excitement and to join the Viterbi School on our journey toward the future. I look forward to seeing you along the way.

Yannis C. Yortsos
Dean, USC Viterbi School of Engineering
