PRESENTING THE SONNY ASTANI DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING 

USC Viterbi School alumnus Sonny Astani, (MSISE'78) whose soaring high-rises and generous philanthropy are transforming downtown Los Angeles, has named the fourth Viterbi School of Engineering department since a $300 million fundraising initiative began in 2001. The $17-million gift is the largest ever to name a civil and/or environmental engineering department.
